Below you will find the information for our upcoming week:

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent Teacher Conferences will be held virtually March 18th through March 25th.  During that week, students will have 120 minutes of synchronous (live) instruction and the remainder of their day will be asynchronous.  Be on the lookout for more information coming soon.

Tentative Reopening Update

As long as San Diego County is in the Purple Tier, we will not be allowed to reopen and will remain in Distance Learning.  If San Diego County numbers continue to decline and we are placed in the Red Tier, reopening in the Hybrid Model can be considered.  We have been reaching out to families and are making plans so that if we can reopen, we will be ready.  As soon as we have information regarding any changes, we will share it with our community.  Again, we thank you for your patience and ongoing support.

School Site Council (SSC) – Thursday, March 4^th at 3:00pm

Our next SSC Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 4^th at 3pm on Zoom.  Please see the attached agenda which also includes the link to join the meeting.  SSC is open to the public.  March 4 SSC Agenda

Muraoka Families,

The YMCA is a long-standing partner in our community.  Each year, the South Bay YMCA’s Annual Campaign helps to support programs that the YMCA provides for families in the City of Chula Vista.  Our school has benefitted from the YMCA in the past and has been tremendous through this pandemic.  We are helping to raise funds as part of this campaign.  If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation, please view the attached flyer for more information.

Parent Survey Information Update

Dear Families,

Microsoft TEAMS is currently experiencing a glitch in their system nation-wide where the camera is not working on some individual accounts.  It is a problem within the program, not on the device itself.  Some users have had success by using the web version of the application. Below are the steps you can take to access the online version of TEAMS.  This has worked for most, but not all users.

Microsoft is working on this matter and hopes to have it resolved soon.  Teachers are aware that this is happening with some of our students.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

Tuesday, February 9^th

Parent Training Session on how to support Smarty Ants at home.  The session will be held virtually from 5:30 – 6:00pm.  Please see the attached CVESD_Parent Session Flyers_Smarty Ants for more information.

Wednesday, February 10^th – COVID TESTING AT MURAOKA

We are pleased to announce that the next round of Antibody and Viral Testing for COVID-19 will take place here at Muraoka on Wednesday, February 10^th.  Staff, students and families are welcome to attend.  Testing is voluntary and is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (no appointments are scheduled during 12-1 lunch break).

The antibody test consists of a light finger prick; results as quickly as 15 minutes for those who stay around for their results. The viral test is the shallow nose swab test; results available within three-to-four business days. Learn more here: Viral Test for COVID-19

Registration for the YMCA Spring Break Camp is now open.  Spring Break this year is March 29th – April 2nd.  Here is some information from the YMCA:

“Our camps are an exciting way to spend a school break! We include lots of action-packed activities that keep your children engaged and happy, like arts & crafts, sports and games. Set in the YMCA style of different crazy activities each and every day, your camper will have a great time while parents have peace of mind knowing their camper is safe.”
