Our parent teacher conferences are off to a great start! Please touch base with your classroom teacher if you have yet to schedule a time to meet and discuss your child’s progress. We will continue with minimum days the entire week.

Fill the Fridge Success! We are overwhelmed by your generosity. Thank you for all your thoughtful donations for our Fill the Fridge event for teachers. They will be thrilled to see the selection of grab-and-go snacks and drinks that will be available to them during the busiest week of the quarter! We will be sure to post pictures on ClassDojo.
Attendance: We will be short staffed in the front office this week. Please email muraokaschool@cvesd.org if your child is absent.
CVESD Wellness Policy: We are linking the CVESD Wellness Policy as a friendly reminder that food and drinks brought onto campus must comply with our district guidelines. Carbonated drinks, sports drinks beverages with caffeine, candy, gum, large bags of chips should not be brought onto campus. 100% fruit juice/milk/chocolate milk or a snack sized bag of chips as part of a balanced lunch are allowed and are to be consumed only in the lunch arbor. Your child may drink water only in the classroom.
The CVESD wellness policy also outlines birthday celebrations with the following statement:
Birthday Celebrations: No celebratory food items will be allowed on school sites during the school day in celebration of a student’s birthday. The District encourages and supports the use of nonfood celebratory activities and will provide a list of suggestions to schools and parents.
We thank you in advance for your adherence to the District Wellness policy as we know that healthy choices build strong brains and bodies.
At Home Antigen Test Distribution: This Thursday, March 17th, each student will receive an at home Covid test to take home. We kindly ask that your child use the at home test on Sunday, April 3rd, prior to returning to school on April 4th. Positive results should be emailed to muraokaschool@cvesd.org. If, for some reason, you do not want/need the covid test, we ask that you return it to the front office on Friday, March 18th.
Weekly Covid Testing: This Wednesday, March 16th. Please be sure to register if you would like your child to be tested weekly at Muraoka. This is optional for students but a requirement for any student involved in a Muraoka sports team. If you want to register your student, please visit: https://school.covidclinic.org/register. Masking Requirements to Change After Spring Break
On Wednesday, March 9th, the CVESD Board of Education voted to make a change to the current requirement of indoor masking for all school campuses. Effective March 21st, indoor masking will be encouraged, but not required for both staff and students. This means that returning from spring break, staff and students will not be required to wear masks indoors. Any student, parent, or staff member who chooses to continue wearing a mask may do so.
