Weekly Reminders for the Week of August 23rd

Dear Families,

We are excitedly preparing for the opening of school on August 31st via Distance Learning!  Our staff understands that our community is looking forward to getting back to learning and there are a lot of questions.  Here’s a quick video message from us!

Here’s what we know so far that will be coming to you next week:

  • Schedules will be shared with families no later than 5pm on Wednesday, August 26th.
  • Classroom teacher assignments will be sent, via email by Tuesday, August 25th
  • A materials distribution is planned for the first week of school – a schedule will be sent this week.
  • Student login information will be sent to parents via email with directions to support your student on how to log on.  Also, be sure to check out the “Technology Tips” Tab here on our Muraoka Blog!

If you haven’t submitted your Verification of Residency, please do so as soon as possible!  Check out this previous post regarding Residency.

Finally, our office staff is working diligently to respond to all inquiries and to support our families.  We kindly ask that when sending emails, please include your student’s full name and grade level.  Without that information, it makes it a little more challenging to get you what you need.  We appreciate your help!

Thank you again for your patience and support.  We are confident this is going to be the best year yet!

Update Your Email Campaign

An email was sent on Friday, August 14th, at approximately 4:30pm to kick-off our UPDATE YOUR EMAIL CAMPAIGN. It is important to have updated contact information for each child; therefore, if you have multiple Muraoka students, you should have received an email for each child. If you did not receive an email for each child, please use this survey link to update the contact information for each child.

Please spread the word and tell your friends about our Update Your Email Campaign. We don’t want them to miss out! Please email or with questions or concerns.

Muraoka Technology Needs Survey

Dear Muraoka Families,

The beginning of the school year is rapidly approaching and in preparation for Distance Learning, we want to ensure that our students have what they need to access learning during the school day.  At this time, we are organizing an upcoming distribution of computers for students who do not have a device at home.

In addition, hotspots are available to provide connectivity to those students who do not have internet service in their homes.

If your student(s) are in need of a computer or internet connectivity, please complete the survey below by Monday, August 17th at 5pm.

Muraoka Technology Needs Survey

If you already have a school device, please keep that computer to use for the upcoming school year.  We will contact our families, who indicate a need for technology, with the information required to pick up the device before school starts.

Please feel free to email if you have any questions regarding devices or hotspots.

Residency Verification

August 11, 2020

Dear Parent,

We hope that you and your families continue to be healthy and safe.  When we left campus in March, we were optimistic that we would be together on campus at the beginning of the year.  While this ended up not being the case, we are still excited to welcome our students back to school on August 31st, in a Distance Learning Model.  In the coming weeks, we will share information about materials/device distribution, Virtual Curriculum Nights and more.

Many of you have asked about Residency Verification, which would typically happen in May, and due to the pandemic was postponed.  At this time, we are now asking families to complete residency verification. There are two options to verify residency this school year.  Please review the two options below and decide which one works best for you:

Please Note:  If your child is an incoming Kindergarten student or just registered as a new student for the 2020-21 school year, you will not need to verify residency.

  1. Complete the fillable PDF of the Verification of Residency Document and sign.  Verification of Residency Form or Second Family Residency Form  It must be your signature – you cannot type your name.  You may scan and upload the document with your signature.  If you have more than one child, you must complete a document for each child.
  2. Scan or upload a picture of a document on the approved list.  The list can be found on the Verification of Residency Document.  The bill/document must be dated after July 1, 2020.
    1. Here are instructions on how to scan them, if you need help:
      1. Scan Documents with Samsung
      2. Scan Documents with iPhone
  3. Email both the signed Verification of Residency Document and the approved bill/document to with your child’s name in the subject line.

In Person Drop-Box Option:

  1. Come to Muraoka and take or complete the form at our station behind the gate, next to our main office (see photo). Bring and attach a copy of a document on the approved list and drop off in our locked box.
  2. Our drop box will only be available to drop off during the hours of 6:30 am – 4:00 pm to ensure privacy of documents.

In Person Option:

  1. Come to Muraoka on Friday, August 14th between the hours of 8:00 am-3:45 pm or on Tuesday, August 18th between the hours of 1:00 pm 6:00 pm.  Please wear a mask and adhere to all social/physical distancing protocols. At this time, we can assist with making copies or answering questions regarding Verification of Residency. This time is STRICTLY reserved for Verification of Residency.
  2. Pick up and complete the Verification of Residency Document and sign.  If you have more than one child, a document needs to be completed for each child.
  3. Bring a document or copy of a document on the approved list.  The list can be found on the Verification of Residency Document.  The bill/document must be dated after July 1, 2020.

11 de agosto de 2020

Estimado Padre,
